    Hi.

I also posted this topic in the AE forum, but thought I could also create what I needed to in C4D…

I am working on a project which includes ‘wave’ shapes that were produced in Photoshop. Last month I did a project where these shapes were animated using masks to reveal the shape on and off the screen – it turned out to be a very tedious and the final product turned out ok, but I feel it could be improved upon.

I have attached an image from the boards – it is located here:

I am looking for a way in which I can create these ‘wave’ shapes so that they look fluid and change shape over time. I have tried many things from masks (as I mentioned), 3D stroke, etc. but haven’t achieved the proper look.

Any ideas for how to create these shapes and animate them?

    Thanks in advance.

    Jason

Well, it’s incredibly crude but here’s a couple attempts using LoftNurbs, splines and either wind or a Formula deformer

That’s pretty good, but there are a number of other ways you could do it too, depending on which modules you have. For example, if you have MoGraph you could use a random effector in deformer mode, set to use animated noise. Or for the best conrol, if you have Mocca, you could morph the spline shapes with the morph tag.
