I’m doing some text in AE giving it a straight alpha channel, animation+, looks great and keys over anything, but if I do even a slight speed change to it it quivers like a baby bird. Used FCP’s time remap, Boris CC time filter, Joe’s time bender, all have caused the quivering. Tried several differrent deinterlacers, nothing worked. Seems I have to go back to AE and re-render. What a pain.

My project is 8bit uncompressed, FCP 5.0.4, G5 dual 2gig with 4.5 gigs of RAM.

is the quality setting for the sequence set to Best and not Normal?

    That can make a difference.

How are you slowing down the material? If you need to slow it down at a consistent pace (like 75% for example), try selecting the clip, hitting apple-j to bring up the speed box, and make sure to uncheck frame blending.

If you are using time remap, you can turn off frame blending there too. Your best and cleanest bet will be to rerender from AE, it won’t take long to render text on an alpha.

    Hope this helps.

Actually, I was speeding up the movie, by about a third. Re-rendering in AE proved to be the best and easiest solution, thanks. Yes, Borjis, my settings were set to best.
