Animated Sketching effect in Motion 4
Im trying to create a sketching effect in Apple Motion 4 for a still image in a <10sec video. How can I program Motion to sketch out the photo, so then i can fade the sketch into the original photo?
My only thoughts are a very time consuming use of multiple masks and lines; im hoping there might be a quicker and esier solution.

to save time I would go with an effect like in the Sherlock Holmes Closing credits. Have your original photo in a layer and then the drawn one in another layer. Create a paint stroke like the Liquid Ink Bleed so it animates over the drawing. Or you can use a cloud chamber like the one in Digital Juices Compositor’s Toolkit Vol. 1. Do an Add Image Mask to blend them together and you are in business. If you have never done an Image Mask watch this Image Mask tutorial I did, the image mask part is in the middle of the tutorial.
