Hi folks! I’m a new poster but a long-time reader of the forums and tutorials.

So I’m looking to do an animated map credit sequence where the roads start at the edges and run over and crisscross each other creating the map (similar to the intro for Aziz Ansari’s Dangerously Delicious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moGI5NQ_s-M). I’m looking wondering what the best way to do that is. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

I’m currently working in the Adobe CC suite.

Use the pen tool to draw shape layer lines. Then use trim paths to draw them on.

If the map is already made, use the same concept except trace over the finished map and use the line layer as a track matte (to do this, put it above your finished map layer, and set the lower layer to alpha matte). Your shape layer with the lines will become invisible, yet your bottom map layer will only reveal where your invisible lines have drawn on.
