Animate Still Photo from beach to give illusion of moving water
So I have this photo (this photo right here in fact) that I wanted to use in a video I’m working on, but I wanted to try and cover up the fact that it’s a photo…
I figured this was something I could do with after effects but wasn’t sure the best plugins to go about doing so… does anyone have any thoughts? I figured I’d simply mask out the water bits and then find some way to warp them to give the illusion the water is moving, as well as perhaps that the light is dancing off the water, and then add oceans sounds to all form the illusion that it’s actually video.
Any thoughts/tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the tips guys.
Dave you’re right about the waves breaking, though truthfully since this will likely be used just for a title screen I just want it to look like the water in the distance is moving, less concerned about the breaking waves (even though, you’re right, that’s what would happen).
I’ll see if those plugins help.
