    Hi,

This is probably a really dumb question, but…

I work for a church where we capture live footage from a video switcher with software. The video is shot in HD 1440X1080. We captured it to 720X486 which looks good but it has the horizontal black bars on top and bottom.

I need to end up with anamorphic 480p if possible, so that the video dimensions are widescreen with no black bars and would fill a widescreen window. Is it 720X405? How do I cut out the black bars and retain the quality?

    Thanks
    Hunter

The question is how you captured it. What is doing the downconvert to SD? That is the step where pixel aspect must be changed to be anamorphic. Although 1440 x 1080 is also using an anamorphic technique, scaling down to SD needs to have anamorphic defined.
