Anamorphic Adapter on DVX100 – Whats best workflow?
Hi,
I shot a documentary on a DVX100 with the anamorphic lens adapter. I have since captured all the footage and begun editing in Premiere. The settings are regular DV with the regular aspect ratio so everything still looks stretched. I do not really care that I am looking at it stretched. I just want to know the best way to put all this on a DVD.I have put the footage on a dvd in this manner already:
I exported the edited movies as .avi with no changes or re-rendering. Then I let After effects transcode everything and burn it as a 16:9 DVD. I select interpret footage as 16:9 before transcoding it I think. This produces a dvd that looks almost right on the TV. It looks too stretched horizontally. Just a tiny bit. If I squeeze it a tad more vertically in premiere before the export, the end result is better but then there are two thin black bars on either side of the final DVD footage. This method works to make everything look right but If I include still pictures and other things everything might get really jumbled. I also will be using after effects for a number of things in this project.Has anyone ever used the anamorphic adapter on the DVX and know how to deal with what I am talking about? I would rather take one step in the beginning really to fix all this but I would rather not have the finished product be letterboxed on the DVD. I would like it to be 16:9.
When putting pictures into the footage in premiere it would definitly not work because the pictrues would be the correct ration and the rest of it would not be correct until the transcoding in Encore.
