analyzing dv audio
i cant figure out what is going on with my FCP 5.1… after capture of the tape it hangs on the “Analyzing DV Audio. Validating Audio Data” screen for about 30 minutes. System is not frozen because i see that mac writting something to my external hard disk, which i settled as capture scratch.

Do you use “Capture Now” and capture an entire tape at once?
What happens if you mark IN & OUT points (for one or several smaller clips), save those marked clips, then use “Batch Capture”?
I avoid “Capture Now.”

When it gets stuck, should I wait it out or stop and cancel?

Greg, sorry it was so long ago that I already do not remember what solution i found out. Now I am already on FCP 6 and do not capture from a tape.
