  • Analyze and fix after importing

On my last project, I imported 120 clip–about 90 minutes worth without checking analyze and fix (so that I could do color balance). After editing down to 5 minutes, I wanted to apply the color balance, but the clips were not analyzed.
    1. Is there an easy way to select just those clips to analyze?
    2. In the meantime, I selected all clips in the event file, but after some minutes, the background processing would stop. If I clicked anywhere on the Mac, it would start up again–Can’t figure out why it stops.
    3. I turned on view background tasks and it seems to be moving along now.
    4. Other than analyzing on import, is there a better way to do this?

Thanks, that is very helpful. I can’t believe where Apple hid App Nap, which I had never heard of. Amazing it is not available from FCPX, but through the finder. Live and learn and then forget again.

So true, but maybe I don’t care if iTunes decides to take a nap. I guess it is another Mavericks gem.
