    Hi all,

need a bit of help with the analaogue to sdi mini converter by blackmagic. The present OB setup we are using has a SD Mini DV Deck going into a Panasonic HMX100 mixer. between the deck and the mixer we using the blackmagic box yet it is not displaying anything on the preview out of the mixer? We are using svideo into the converter via the Y and C and B and C (top inputs)on the converter.

Any advice especially in regards to the dip switches on the converter would be appreciated.

Try going directly from S output of camera first into converter box. Also make sure your camera menu settings are set up to output video from S out. If you have video in that configuration, test all cables with that set up first. Many S/VHS cables are of poor quality and break if you sneeze on em. Once you have the camera and converter working you can add the mixer when you are sure all of your cables are good and dip switches on the converter are set and working.

You should just need to flip DIP #4 to the UP position for S-Video. (And #5 should also be up) All the others can be left at the defaults.

Also, is your HMX100 running in SD mode?
