  • An HD migrant needs help getting out to a production monitor.

    Okay,

I, and many of my friends, are migrating to HD exclusively. I’m personally keeping it light at first with the HVX200. I post with FCP 5.1, soon to be 6, on a MacPro.

I’m looking for solutions to be able to get the signal out of my Mac onto a production monitor. Are there any small budget solutions to get out of the computer, and again for a monitor?

    Thanks,
    Brad

The Matrox MXO is a great low cost solution. It takes the YUV signal out of the DVI port (and audio and timecode) and can output to HD SDI, component, composite…AND DVI to an Apple Cinema Display turning it into a broadcast quality monitor.

AND…with the new version of the MXO drivers, 2.0 (due out next month), you have a proc amp and can adjust brighness and contrast and saturation and hue…AND you can view BLUE ONLY to truly balance a monitor.

It can also downconvert to an SD monitor as well.
