We have been shooting xdcam for at least a year and a half. We copy the BPAV folder from the card to a hard drive. Then link the media through AMA and away we go, no problem. We are using Mac Based MC 5.5.

I just got back from a 7 day shoot in Israel shooting with Sony F3 and recording on SxS cards. I have about Ten folders of material that contain folders with BPAV folders. All but 2 of the folders link. The 2 that don’t come in to the bin with the file name but they don’t turn yellow and they don’t contain the drive path. Some others I shot on the same day and they are fine. Any ideas?

They open in good ole Premier and I can export to QT but what a hassle.

Any unusual symbols in the path to the file?

It doesn’t make much sense unless those two that don’t link have an error in the file path. Or possibly corrupt somehow?

As Andrew suggested look at the file names.

I had a lot of problems getting some red files into fcp.

It eventually turned out that the red application was only a front end driving a unix programme, which would not accept many characters in the file name (“&” in our case). It did not produce an error, just would not load.

    worth a look.
