AMA problems with Canon XF
I suspect I know the answer to this have spent all morning trying and trawling through the masses of data and guides, however:
Our production team just came back from a shoot having shot on Canon XF 305. They handed me a hard drive with all the folders of media on. I am editing on Media Composer 4.0.5, using AMA (for the first time) and have downloaded the AMA XF plug-in which it says in the documentation supports v4.0.5. I plugged in the hard drive, loaded up the AMA volume and it all populated fine. However, when you try to add it to the source, timeline or any other window for that matter, it says a serious error has occured and recommends restarting. I have made sure there are no symbols or spaces in the file names.
In the console it says the “AMA MSP cannot be located for clip LAxxxx” and has a huge long list of files it couldn’t connect to. Now I suspect having read various articles that v4.0.5 DOESN’T support XF as it also says you need the MXF plugin which is only compatible with v5. But my interpretation of the wording is that it’s built in to v4.0.5 and is a plugin for v5. Am I way off the mark here???
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks guys
