If I’m reading between the lines correctly, it seems as if you’re looking for a 24P(film)look. If this is what you’re expecting, the 900, which produces an interlaced video look, will dissapoint.

Alright. I know that beginners can get a little annoying in this forum, (and I happen to be fairly beginner), but I am very saddened to know that my questions are not welcome in a place full of people that I really look up to and aspire to be. Sure, I’ll head over to the kids forum if you want me to, but D-O N-O-T insult me like I am a fool. You all were in my shoes once before, somewhat naive in your manner and knowledge. But seriously, thanks for making me feel unwelcome at the creative cow, and thanks for showing me that the people I most deeply admire are, in fact, snobs who don’t remember that they were once exactly like me: young, but dying to learn everything possible from the leaders.

I am not pointing any fingers at anyone, and I am not being sappy. Don’t get me wrong, you are all such amazing artists, but I am just saddened by what I see, and will discontinue posting in the creative cow if you all would like.

And to the person who told me to get off of automatic, whoever it was, don’t EVER assume that a person doesn’t know what’s going on. My favorite thing to do is play with the videocamera, play with the 35mm camera, whatever, and you have just crushed me.

Dude…all he was saying is to take the camera off automatic mode and play with the settings manually. You have far more control. I didn’t see anything in that comment that should have crushed you.

And all we are saying is that the creative calf is a good place for beginners, as the COW itself is more geared at professionals. And what really put it over the top was the unnecessary use of all those question marks.

    Alexander,

No one hates you, and I hope you’re not scarred for life by anything I said. Just understand that there are many professionals on this forum struggling to make a living in this most difficult business, and it can be a bit irritating when “mole hills” are made into mountains. Just lay off the caps and the multitudinous question marks and I think all will be forgiven.

Hey I must say that a few here on this thread were a little out of line. Okay I think he gets the caps and ? thing but I must say that it seems that being in High school or out of school should have no bearing on being professional. Now while his skills may lack due to experience, I have read many questions on this forum fromthose “in the business” that are very new to FCP and videography in general. What do you expect then the gear is as inexpensive as it has become?

thewanggao do not judge everyone the same because of a few. Keep learning, you’ll get it.

    Good Luck

Thanks for vaguely mentioning you’re in high school in your 3rd post. And now, it’s in all caps in your signature. So you need to decide if you want to be treated as a high school student that doesn’t know much, or if we should treat you as an equal and call you out when you repeat yourself and don’t listen to basic advice. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t claim “don’t treat me like a fool” and then in another breath say “hey I’m just a high school student, be nice (paraphrased).”

We were (me at least) just treating you like an equal. You talk a lot about progressive and interlaced and GL2 and TRV and frame mode, etc. You sound very knowledgeable. So when you admit you’re not connected to a monitor, but keep badgering the point that your screen doesn’t look good, we treat you like any other video pro and tell ya to hook it up to a tv already! I’d have said the same thing to Walter or anyone else. We don’t know your experience level. You sounded like you had quite a bit, but just refused to hook it up to a tv and wanted to continue discussing how it looks when you still hadn’t hooked it up to a tv.

I must be missing something here…but I have NOT read anything that suggestes that this kid is doing anything wrong other than TYPING IN CAPS. Seems to me that a few “professionals” here are not doing a great job at showcasing why the Cow is such a welcoming place to be.

    Lighten up guys
