    Hi

I have a load of DVC Pro-HD 720P 30 tapes, which I need to select best shots from then put them on the timelene and basically play them out onto new tapes for the archive library.

I therefore decided to digitize them in using the native codec which is DVCPro-HD 720p 30.

When I digitize it in using this native codec the frame rate in Final Cut shows as 59.94. Is this because DVC PRO-hd shoots at 60 frames per second.

Or do I need to change the frame rate to 30 in the Capture Preset Editor.

What is the best way of capturing this footage?

    Thanks in advance.

FCP is going to capture the material based on a 30 frame tc as that’s the way it records on the Varicam. YOu can choose to view 30 frame or 60 frame tc in FCP but it’d keep it @ 30 since that’s what’s on the tape. ALso, do you mean the compressor shows up as 59.94? If so this is correct. If you want to change the tc, right click on the tc rate and choose 30 instead of 60. If you can’t see tc rate, enable it by right clicking on the top of a column in the browser and change it from 60 to 30.
