I want to give her texts with glows and blurs added and supply these with aplha channels to smooth her workflow.
Those that we have tried look rubbish. Is there somthing we should know ?

Might find your answer in the COW Archives.

Here’s what I do in the same situation…
Render Settings: make sure Render Field is set to “lower”
Output Module: OuickTime, under format options select Animation and millions of colors. Also select in Channels: RGB+Alpha and under Color: Premulitplied (Matted).

The other thing to check is the import and create media setting with Avid Express Pro, or have the editor do that for you.

    Hope this helps.

I find that if you are going to go with premultplied, you should change the bkg color of your comp to match the glows, otherwise you will often get black outlines around your text glows.

Of course if you are laying this over black it won’t matter, but over video, especially lighter colored subjects it’s often very noticable.

Avid does not support premultiplied alpha. You will need to use straight alpha in your render settings.
