Alpha Problems
Posted by Paul Rozon on December 29, 2011 at 8:23 pmOn my timeline I have 2 video tracks. Track 1 is my main content and Track 2 (above track 1) I have placed a video that has an alpha.
All looks good and renders out fine.
I then added a “levels effect” to Track 1 and instantly my alpha looks like a bag of hammers. If you mute the effect the alpha goes back to normal.
Any Idea of what I am running up against here?
Any input would be appreciated.
Paul

December 29, 2011 at 9:40 pmIs it possible to test it with the non mercury version?
I’m merely guessing…

December 29, 2011 at 10:53 pmIf you look in the effects panel…you can sift the listings to show you accelerated or non accelerated versions of fx. I may be wrong about that….As I’m not in front of it, I can’t verify…

AVC-I 100 @ 1080i 60In PP I have source media on track 1 and AE lower third scrolling text on Track 2 (above track 1). Everything looks prestine on PP program monitor and on external production monitor. Export timeline and severe banding occurs.
I have attempted exporting AE file in a number of different file types without any difference. I have also attempted exporting PP sequence in a number of different files types without success.

December 30, 2011 at 4:59 pmto clarify…
Originally I thought the Levels Effect was causing the problem so I removed the levels effect and rendered the timeline to find the same problem with the banding.

December 30, 2011 at 6:40 pmHow about something other than Matrox code? Quicktime Animation + Alpha?

December 30, 2011 at 6:46 pmYup, Tried Animation with Alpha and a slew of others with the same result which leads me to believe it is a premiere issue.
