Flip the Process…
Bring your PPro Project into AE…
add the Alpha GFX there and output as a new clip.
then output through Ppro?
I agree this needs to be addressed…I’m just trying to help you get it done…

Are you saying this is a known issue?
What I find confusing is the fact that I can lay the effect on my timeline and it previews in real time perfectly without banding. It is only on the render out that it craps out. Why would that be?

January 2, 2012 at 8:16 pmTurned off the mercury hardware accelerator in PP and went to software render and everything looks fine now. Not sure what this means but I got my show out for now.

Within project settings I switched from Mercury Playback Engine (CPU acceleration) to Mercury Playback Engine (software only). Is this what you were suggesting? If so, it corrected my problem with banding. I got my project out the door and now I would like to get to the bottom of this.
What does this mean? Do I have faulty hardware? Any Ideas?
Thanks for your help.

January 4, 2012 at 5:45 pmOk…that was sort of where I was going with my first lkine of thought…
something to do with hardware mercury….that’s way I was looking for a non mercury levels filter.
Should have thought of that….good to know though.
thought process might be then….Mercury hardware for perfomance editing…mercury software for final output…
