    G’day!
I wanna ceate a motion blur tracing the movement of an object.
The object was built in C4D and I imported it with an alpha mask into AE. Now I have the isoltaed object in my comp and need an idea how to add a motion blur effect, though having a video with a (empty) background!

    Help will be greatly appreciated!

If the motion is created in AE only – just activate motion blur for the comp and for the layer.

If you have the animation created in 3d application without motion blur and you want to create artificial motion blur in AE – activate frame blending for the comp and for the layer and use CC Force motion blur.

    Thanks for replying!
Well, I put the animation from C4D in a comp in AE, put the alpha channel above it and I get the isolated object. Then I activate the frame blending mode and even if I use very high settings for the options of CC Force Motion Blur, nothing happens. Not even in a precomp.

I have to confess that the motion of the object is really slow. But even with exaggerated settings I couldn’t see any difference.

Is it because of the slow motion or is it because you can’t add a motion blur to a object isolated with an alpha channel?

It is because of slow motion.

You can only get MB like that from roto Masks motion (not from Alpha)

Try our product ReelSmart Motion Blur:
