    Hi,

(Sorry i’m french and i don’t speak english very well)

When i use particle illusion to export my video i dont have problem with the alpha channel but when i use particle illusion render, the alpha channel was strange.

You can see the result of one picture here: https://www.alexxi.fr/exemple.jpg

I’m working with very big resolution ( < 8000px X 2000px ) and i need that. I'm using particle illusion for mac ( the last version ). Do you have a solution? Thank you Bye alexis

Which codec are you using for the export?

I don’t think it’s a codec issue. Do you have pIRender set to use hardware rendering, or software rendering? Try software rendering if you haven’t yet.

Also, are you using motion blur? If so, try setting it to “regular” instead of “high quality” in pIRender.

    Thank you for this answer

The codec is not the problem i use tga sequences with alpha (32 bits/px) or quicktime animation…
and i don’t using motion blur.

Effectively i think the problem is harware rendering but i can’t put software rendering into the preferences…

why? and how i can put software rendering?

    Thank you

Ah, you’re using the Mac version. There’s no way to turn off hardware acceleration in the current version.

Can you do some testing for me and find out if there is some size at which the alpha channel starts working correctly? For instance, does it work at 4000 x 2000? 2000 x 1000? If you can find the size at which it seems to stop working, that may give me some clues.

I will add this bug to our list, but I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get to it.

    Alan.

    Hi,

    Today i do some tests.

How i can explain that in english?? we are going to see…:

The problem is not the resolution because i can have a bad alpha chanel with pillusion render when i’m working at 500X500 or 10000×3000.

    – if i create a new project in particle illusion and i just put one emitter and i save it, i don’t have problem after with the alpha chanel in pillusion render…

    – if i create a project and i work with emmiters, deflectors … i save it, i’m open it, i change the particle… after a time i have this bug with the alpha chanel in pillusionRender. i don’t find what exactly cause this pronlem

    BUT i find a solution…

If i have this alpha channel problem in pillusion render with 9750x3220px composition for exemple, i juste need to open the project in pillusion, resize the composition at 10000×3300, save it.
And after i don’t have the problem with pillusion render.

I have this problem with every mac I have tried, and every version of pillusion I have tried. (actually i’m working with the v3.0.8.1)

    strange?

Thank you for your job and I am eager to see Particle illusion for after effect (the mac release).

    bye
