I was wondering how I could take an Alpha Channel effect into Final Cut Pro. Essentially I will have someone export a page ‘peel’ out of After Effects. I would like to have that ‘peel’ reveal an end page that I currently have in a sequence in FCP.

    Working w/ FCP 6 and AE CS3

    thanks

If AE is on the same computer as FCP 7 then you have a new choice of ProRes 4444 which has an alpha channel.

With FCP6 you have animation codec which also has an alpha channel.

If using the Quicktime, Animations codec be sure to set it to Millions of Colors +. The + stands for the alpha channel.

    Hi Christian,

Make sure you select Millions of Colors+ in your render settings (the ‘+’ stands for plus alpha)
The default is just Millions of Colors.

    All the best,
