    The manufacturer doesn’t matter as much as the specifications of the RAM and (for the paranoid) Apple Certification. There are plenty of third party manufacturers that produce Apple Certified RAM.

    You can check in the System Profiler to make sure that all of your RAM has the same type and speed (for the first rev Mac Pros this should be DDR2 FB-DIMM at 667Mhz, for the second rev it should be DDR2 FB-DIMM at 800Mhz). Another thing to consider (that isn’t listed in the System Profiler) is that Apple would prefer your RAM have ECC error correction.
