All of a sudden .MTS files have no audio
Hi Guys,
I have encountered a problem recently with my .MTS files playback on my computer.
I recorded to a Transcend SDHC memory card on the Panasonic HMC 150. I then copied the entire PRIVATE folder from the memory card to my computer. I know that computers cannot playback this file type without the proper codec so I installed the K-lite codec pack which allows me to do so. I was able to play all my files just fine no problems. Then all of a sudden a few of the files have no audio when I play them back. I tried playing them in both Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic neither of which playback the files with audio.
When I first moved the files to my computer I transcoded them into DVCPRO HD files using the MainConcept Transcoder supplied by Panasonic on their website and then imported them as virtual P2’s into Avid Xpress. I edited the files just fine with audio and video. I opened the project in Avid today just to see if the same files that were missing audio when I played them back with WMP/MPC were now missing audio in Avid and THEY ARE. I had hoped that maybe they weren’t since Avid uses MXF files not the actual media but no such luck. It’s not all my files just a few. Can anybody tell me why I might be experiencing this problem? And is there anyway to recover my audio?
I’m using a Sony Vaio desktop computer running Vista Home Edition 64-bit.
