I’m grading a short movie, shot on Alexa Mini, ProRes 4444 2K 25p, edited as 2K in FCP7.
I need to send back HD (instead of 2K), since they have graphics and animated intro/outro already done in HD and they gonna edit everything together in FCP7.
At the end, it is gonna be delivered to TV as HD 50i.
What is the best way to downconvert? Should I render HD (1980×1080) from Resolve or should I render 2K and then use Compressor?
    Thank you

Render a mezzanine 2K (Archiving at source resolution means never having to say “sorry”) and use it to export whatever else you might need, HD only being the beginning of a long list of deliverables that broadcasters usually want. I am very impressed with Compressor 4.2.2.
