just out of curiosity, i was wondering if anyone knew where, on Mac OSX, the alert sounds for after effects are stored and if/how you can change them (the sound for a completed render, for example).

    thanks

i’ve hacked some apps before to change out graphics before… you can right-click on the ae application icon and choose show package contents. somewhere in there (probably contents/macos…) should be an aiff file (maybe another audio type?), if you replace that, it should replace that sound. there may be specifics on audio rate and file type, the file would need the same name.

i can’t actually read japanese, but i think this is outlined at ayatoweb.com. i think he also steps through changing the splash page in his ae lab section.
