AJA Wins !
Posted by Bob Zelin on July 16, 2007 at 10:04 pmAs AJA continues to dominate the professional video editing market, everyone is bailing out at AVID. This has been happening for quite a while, but today was a big one. I have discussed this privately before, but I would like to say congratulations to AJA for kicking ass, and making the best product out there. It was only a matter of time.
The good guys win.

July 17, 2007 at 7:11 pmI suspect what Bob was referring to was Avid’s announcement yesterday that their CEO was stepping down – not considered a very positive sign for them.

July 17, 2007 at 8:13 pmAnd as I mentioned to someone recently, when asked “so, what do you think about the state of AVID, and what’s happening in the company”, I apparantly answered properly “no one cares”. This thread kind of proves it.

July 17, 2007 at 9:45 pmSO, now that a financial person is running AVID, would a simple way of cutting costs, while maintaining the real moneymaker (Unity) be to eliminate all AVID hardware, and simply port over to AJA I/O HD, and Xena products for the HP xw8400 ? Will we see this at IBC ?
