We have an AJA LS, which will be at an editing station that we’d like to connect to an AutoPatch Distribution Matrix (active router). We would like to be able to route Y/C signals to the Kona card, but also be able to route component signals as well. The problem I see is that the Kona card uses the same cables to do Y/C and component – their function is dependent on the software configuration of the card. Is there a simple way to set-up the AJA into the AutoPatch? Will I need to put additional switching boxes somewhere? (messy) Or do you think the AutoPatch could be programed to use only two of the input connections when going to a Y/C deck, and use all three when going to a component deck?

Any configuration suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Philip

    hi –
I have been doing this for a long time, and your request is pretty ususual. Most people use component and/or component for analog video, and S-video is usually used for very few items (like an occational S-VHS VCR). There is no way to have both at the same time with the AJA or Blackmagic or AVID product. Y/C is pretty much over !
