AJA Kona System Test is invaluable !

I have been using SATA drives for almost every system for over 6 months now, always with Hitachi drives, with zero problems. In the past few systems, I have been having issues with drive performance, that I never experienced in the past. I pointed the finger at this company, and that company – and even called AJA. The only thing that helped me figure out what the problem was, was AJA Kona System Test. After getting different drives (Seagate 400 Gig SATA drives), I discovered that the current production run of Hitachi 400 Gig 7200 RPM SATA drives are ALL defective, and will barely go 14MB/sec with both Firmtek and Sonnet HBA’s. But Hitachi 500 Gig SATAs are just fine, and the Seagate 400 Gig SATA’s are just fine.Becuase the Hitachi 400 Gig drives mounted, and passed Apple Disk First Aid, I did not assume that there was a problem with the drives, and blamed everything else. It was not until I used AJA Kona System Test to benchmark the drives (multiple drives) that I was able to discover where the problem was. Because no one believed me, this test, using the FREE DOWNLOAD of AJA Kona System Test was repeated in California, and was confirmed, that the Hitachi 400 Gig SATA drives have issues.
