Looking to add Xpress Pro to my home system, which current runs FCStudio. I’m wondering if the AJA IOla I have will work with Avid. I see that it is basically designed with FCP in mind, but it basically does the same function of the Mojo. Doesn’t it?

I’m hoping I can use tat for any non-firewire imports/exports…. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Jason

So how do you get your AVID Xpress Pro to work with normal VTR’s ?
AVID Mojo, and AVID Mojo SDI. Any other I/O solution ?

    Hi Jason,
the whole problem and limitation of the digidesign software line, is that they only with with digidesign hardware. THe only exception to this is the M-Audio box for Protools M-Powered. Other than that you have to buy expensive and limiting hardware….

The beauty of FCP is you can get any number of cards/devices that work seemlessly with it. You can of course just digitise using firewire in Avid, but you wont be able to control any deck unless it has firewire, and you cant digitise in any codec other than DV, with (Xpress Dv).

    sorry about that

    Man, that’s a bummer.

You’d think that with Avid releasing their software only versions, that they’d be more flexible with their I/O options.

    Hmmm…

Anyone know of any good deals on a Mojo? How about this shot in the dark question…. would the Mojo work with FCP?

I’m thinking no, but thought I’d toss it out there!!

Thanks, you saved me (or cost me more, depending how you look at it!)
