    Say guys,

been awhile since I’ve had to use my AJA IO LA since I’ve been doing mostly firewire and used desktop monitors.

Anywho, I’ve recently captured some footage, installed the latest Pro Io drivers and was able to capture betacamSP via component input. Howeverm, I’m having trouble getting video playback on my NTSC monitor.

    here’s my setup:

output to monitor from AJA is BNC composite I think
Have FCP Easy setup on component Betacam input
Playback set to component NTSC YpbBr SMPTE 8-bit 422 (or whatever it’s called)
    Audio is proio
I’ve hit refresh playback device many times. Still nothing.

I’ve trashed my settings and plist. Still nothing. No firewire cable is connected (aside from io) into the computer.

Maybe it’s a simple thing and it’s been so long I forgot. Any help guys?

[Rick Neely] “output to monitor from AJA is BNC composite I think”
[Rick Neely] “Playback set to component NTSC YpbBr SMPTE 8-bit 422”
These are 2 different video signal.

But listing things with comments like “I think” and “whatever you can it” is not what you need to be doing. You need to be conveying clear. accurate settings and info.

Thing that you need to be listing.
Footage Codec, sequence codec – Uncompressed 8 or 10 bit? ProRes? DV?
    Video out settings in FCP
Analog Video Out setting in AJA control panel
    w/ analog format.
There correct connection from the Io to the monitor.

Been a couple weeks since I last posted,

but I figured it out. My fault- I had forgotten a few weeks before, I turned off my video DA and it had escaped me that the video feed from tha AJA to my monitor goes thru it. My bad. Thanks.
