Hey, rookie here. I need some help understanding my situation here.

I’m using an Aja Io LA to capture footage on BetaSP and DVD. When I capture video, more often than not I get an interlacing problem.

Is this due to my capture settings? Or is it due to the fact that clients are sending in footage that is interlaced?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by interlacing problem? All BetaSP footage is interlaced.

You should be capturing to 8bit Uncompressed SD when capturing from BetaSP.

What external monitor are you watching this play back on?

IF you see the interlacing in FCP it might be because the viewer and canvas only display one field. Walter is correct BETA SP is an interlaced source.
