AJA IO HD AND SONY J-H3 NO COMMUNICATION
Hi everyone,
This is my first time trying to capture HDCAM using Aja IOhd and FCP 6 so please be patient!?!I’m trying to capture HDCAM 1080 (as ideally uncompressed 10bit hd 4:2:2) into FCP6.02, with a Sony J-H3 deck but can’t work out how to get vtr communication to play ball!
Checked out all the posts here and in AJA forum and checked the internet for tips etc but nothing is helping.
Would any genius out there be able to help me i.e. things to check etc?ANY HELP WOULD BE MOST GRATEFULLY RECEIVED.

The I/O HD doesn’t capture uncompressed HD. ProRes only for high quality capture.

Be sure to use an Easy Setup for the capture. Final Cut Pro > Easy Setup. Choose one that has AJA IoHD in the title.
Also ensure that you have your RS-422 cable connected correctly.
If that doesn’t work, search the AJA Kona forum for J-H3 or JH3. I know that machine has issues sometimes working with all non-linear systems.
