Hi. We are using a Mac Pro with Aja IoHD box.

What codec of timeline is the “best” most suitable for SDI capture and export via Aja IoHD (from, to Digi Betacam) Apple pro res?

    thanks for the help.

In Standard Def you can choose any number of options for recording, While the IoHD is specifically designed for capture into the high quality ProRes codec, you also can work in any of the current flavors of compression widely used in SD, from Uncompressed 10 bit to DV.

Even though all HD recording is limited to the ProRes codecs. SD is wide open

Since you are talking about SD and not HD, you’re likely to get comparable results using DVCPro50 instead of ProRes yet get smaller files sizes. However, the DVCPro50 codec is 8 bit while the ProRes can be either 8 bit or 10 bit.
