  • AJA Io Box – Audio but No Video from FCP5 to Monitor

    Hello CC,

I am facing a peculiar problem. On one of our G5’s, external audio from an AJA Io box to the mixer is working fine but the video signal is not reaching the external monitor. I have looked at every setting I can think of and everything is in order. We are editing 8bit Uncompressed 4:2:2 through SDI. Yesterday all the AJA Drivers were replaced after reinstalling FCP5 and since then the video signal hasn’t reached the monitor. Now I have just been told by our editor that they were able to get a single frame of video on the monitor by checking Show Excess Luma. Can anyone shed some light on what is going on?

    Thanks!

Here’s some things to try, its probably something simple:

    1) Make sure the monitor is connected the correct Io video output.
    2) External Video is set to OFF. Go to FCP View -> External Video and set it to all frames.
    3) Close the FCP Log and Capture Window.
    4) Close the Edit-to-tape Window.
    5) Make sure that the FCP Viewer and Canvas zoom setting is set to fit to Window.
    6) The Io is not setup properly
