    Hi,

I have an old & faithful AJA I/O dating back to 2004. I’m currently
using it with an Intel Mac & FCSP 2. I can’t monitor Color with AJA
I/O. Is there a workaround? AJA doesn’t seem to be interested in
my queries about a software upgrade. Or is it Apple that is lagging
behind? I’d like to keepeth ye olde faithful. Anybody… br…jb

Unfortunately, your workaround is to not use the Io. The only Io product that works with Color is the Io HD, and that’s only working with SD. If you really want the most monitoring options for Color, consider a Mac Pro with a Kona card.

    thanks for your note Arnie,

I received a nice note from AJA stating that
Apple is the instance to talk to when it comes
to new drivers for AJA I/O. So, unless they come
    up with it…

I have a Kona LHe on my other station and it
    works just fine.

Colour is designed to work uncompressed on a high level (HD or ProRes). It doesn’t like breakoutboxes with FW connections. That’s the problem with IO. To work properly you have to use a card (Kona3 for example. It works also together with IO)
