AJA can’t capture anything… We’ve done the update 10.3.6/QT7.1.1. No capture… uninstalled those back to base OS and QT 7 still nothing… any way.

We’ve made sure that our routers, decks and sources are all working properly… The only variables have been Mac & AJA

you have just posted the classis example of how not to describe a problem. “It’s just dead, it sucks, nothing is working, the AJA is dead”.
    What are you talking about.

10.3.6 is not a current MAC OS. What MAC are you on, what is your MAC OS, what is your FCP version? Was this working at one time, and now it no longer is working ? When you did the OS update, did you do it via the internet on the Apple site ? Are you on FCP 4, 4.5, 5, 5.1?

Did you download the AJA drivers that correspond to your I/O box ? Did you open up the AJA I/O Control Panel, select component or composite, and see if video is passing thru the AJA I/O box ? Do this first, and then we will move on to FCP – lets’ see if the AJA I/O is dead, or if you have an FCP problem.

When you post back, take 2-3 minutes, and post specifics about your system, and what happened – I have no idea if your system EVER worked, or if it worked, and stopped after you did an update.

Plug it in and see if any pretty lights come on the front.

    Matt,

Start by downloading and installing the latest AJA Io drivers, firmware and presets. Delete your FCP prefs and caches and do everything recommended by AJA in their installation instructions (redo your FCP settings/prefs as needed). The two posts above mine are a little harsh, but they are correct. You have to tell us about your system, what you’ve tried, and exactly what’s happening (or not happening). Maybe its just not plugged in? We have no way of knowing with the little info you gave us.

Also, don’t be afraid to email or call AJA tech-support for quick help – they are the best!

    Tony!
