Aja and the nvidia chipsets?
Posted by Tim Veal on April 30, 2007 at 9:25 pmDoes anyone know if the Xena boards are compatible with the new Nvidia nForce 600 series motherboards?

May 2, 2007 at 3:47 amThanks. I was looking for something like this and couldn’t find it. I saw all the boards listed are dual AMD/Xeons. Is anyone using a Core 2 Duo board?

May 2, 2007 at 6:05 pmProbably not. You really need a workstation class motherboard for uncompressed HD. All of the Xeon boards/systems listed are dualcore/quadcore Xeons. Plenty of speed there. The real test is in the chipset/bus architecture. That is where you will find the workstation boards more stable and better for handling Uncompressed HD.

Actual both server and workstation boards work for uncompressed HD. There really isn’t much going on with the procs, given your using the right I/O card for the job 🙂
We have used a mixture of both and on both Intel and AMD over the years.

May 8, 2007 at 2:03 pmThanks for all the replys. A Core 2 Duo board fits in my budget for my startup system so I’ll try that first with my setup and see how the card works and post the results.
