I have the latest drivers for FCPHD Studio and the Aja IO and now my DSR-1500 doesn’t work with the RS-422 port connected. I can capture video composite, component, S-Video and SDI only by capture now, as the machine control is very flaky. It will toggle between “communication error” and “VTR ok” and may or may not respond to clicking on the play and shuttle controls. My Betacam 1400 works alright (albeit sluggishly!) with RS-422 machine control as well as the Sony HDV deck, and a Sony DSR-30 deck with the Tao L-port LANC/RS-422 controller. Is this a bug in the new IO driver release?? FCP 4.5 worked flawlessly with the IO. And yes, no anti-virus software installed and prefs were trashed, IO drivers re-installed as well as FCP 5.2.

    Hi
I also had problems of the similar kind. I trashed the IO-Panel, and then I could batchcapture the videomaterial. Maybe the beta-release of the IO-Panel makes problems. Try to trash the IO-Panel. I’m no freak, but maybe this helps.
    Thank you
    Edwin

No luck!! I tried pulling the HDV and DVCPROHD codecs out of the Quicktime folder (these caused problems with Boris RED video output and various other problems through the IO in 4.5), uninstalling the latest IO drivers and FCP, reinstalling both, Trashing the IO Control Panel, reinstalling Quicktime etc., and I can’t get machine control to work on the DSR-1500! I’m also trying to find the answer through Aja Tech Support, so we’ll post the fix if we find out what it is!
