  • AJ-1200 – menu question

Posted by Gunleik Groven on March 16, 2006 at 11:34 pm

In the manual it says that if I connect a videomonitor to the second sdi output, I can see
    the menus, but I don’t…

I need to change the settings between some hvx-400 footage and Varicam p25 footage that I need to upscale to 1080 i50.

    Any ideas?

There is a menu to turn on or off the menus via one of the HDSDI outputs.

This is often called a clean feed versus a dirty feed (which has menus or other information over the primary video).

Look in the menu section of the manual to find the specific menu setting for turning on the menus.

    Gunleik –

Menu No. 005 allows you to choose which output to send status and menu info to. There is no “second SDI” output, but you can use Video OUT 2 which sends a composite signal out to your monitors, as long as you are not using it as part of a component HI-Def signal. This is the easiest way to go, its menu choice is 005-0001.

[Herb Sevush] “There is no “second SDI” output,”

Sure there is. With all the optional boards installed there are two HD-SDI output and an SD-SDI output. My 1200A has all three SDI outputs on it.

    Walter –

What I meant is that there is no option to ouput status info to SDI #2 only, as opposed to the video outs where Video 1 could be video and Video 2 could be status info. With SDI, all outputs are identical.

No that’s not entirely correct either. You can either output the Super information to SD SDI or HD SDI. It does not have to be output to HD and SD SDI simultaneously.

    Menu 005 shows these settings.
