Posted by No Knickers on April 29, 2005 at 6:08 pmI can’t bring formatted text from AI to InDesign and have it be editable. Is there a way to do this?

It is easier to go the other way as you can save a pdf from InDesign and open that pdf in Illustrator with most eidtability intact, except some lines of type get broken.

May 4, 2005 at 1:24 amhmm… it works for me. Set copy in IllustratorCS, copy the text block (not just the type with selection tool) then, paste into InDesign. (Don’t import text into the box)
Colors, fonts and such seem to work for me. All CS versions though, don’t know about non-CS versions.
In Quark, if you select formatted text then File Save Text As and choose rtf you can then import that into InDesign and all the stylings will be intact as well.
I know, sorta off topic, but not far..
