  • AI: CS(1) — distributing ‘film sprocket holes’ on text??

    Illustrator CS:

I’m retro-fittiing a logo and need to distribute “film sprocket holes” (i.e. black squares) along the edges of the text word “FILMS”.

“FILM” was EASY, but the “S” is more challenging.

How do I distribute a shape along a path?

    Thanks!

If you need something like this

then, I guess, you need to use pattern brush with some further manual adjustments. I attach an .ai file which I hope is self-explanatory.

Thanks Alex. I tried a Blend, which worked, but the sprockets really didn’t line up that well to the edges of the “S”. This looks much better. I’ll dissect it and see if I have any more questions.

    THANKS for your help!
