OK, after watching Ahron’s vintage tutorial on this a number of times I am stymied about how he converts an 8 frame mouth into a much longer one to use in the animation of Mr. Face. I’m animating a talking cat who speaks three times over the 30 second timeline. Each segment is no longer than 2 seconds but making 8 frames stretch into 2 seconds has my neurons bouncing around in my head. So, before I reach for another Advil, please help me and my neurons find a solution to this…

In the final comp(Mr. Face) he selects the mouth layer and enables time remapping(cntl+alt+t). This allows for the layer to be longer than 8 frames.

AFter that he uses hold keyframes to move between the different mouths as the speaker speaks.

If you go back to about 6:20 in the tutorial, that’s where he explains about how he acccomplished time remappinng the layer.

Many thanks for your feedback. I’ll review it again to see where I missed that step.
