  • AG-HVX200 no longer 1080/30p?

    The original tease for this camera was HD/SD multi-format with 1080/60i, 1080/24p, 1080/30p, 720/60p, 720/24p, 720/30p, 480/60i, 480/24p, 480/30p with DVCPRO HD, DVCPRO 50, DVCPRO (25), and DV.

From what I have been reading so far, no one has mentioned any 1080/30p. This camera seems to be a 1080i (like the Sony Z1U’s native format) and 720p variable frame-rate camera. Is this true?

    It states on Panasonic’s own website that it will do 1080/60i, 1080/24p, 1080/30p, 720/60p, 720/24p, 720/30p, 480/60i, 480/24p, 480/30p.

Just announced is the PAL model with 720/25p 720/50p. Not sure as yet if the PAL model will shoot 1080/25p tho.

Yes, Panasonic has said 1080/30p in the past as well, but from the reports that I am hearing from the folks at NAB, there has been no mention of 1080/30p yet.

I just watched a promotional video from Panasonic that touted the HVX200 as a 1080i / 1080p / 720p camera, so from the looks if it, we are still getting 1080/30p in this camera. I just thought it was odd that no one mentioned it so far in all the reports…

No, I was wondering if the differences between the NTSC and PAL models are purely in the SD modes and frame rates, but all other HD modes have identical frame rates?

For example, will the PAL model shoot 24p or 25p at 1080, as at HD there is no such thing as PAL/NTSC.

    “Ntsc” model: 1080@24p/30p/60i
    “Pal” model: 1080@25p/50i

But if “Varicam style” ads really means what they suggests,
    then it would be 720@4-60p…

thanks, I didn’t know the individual product page was updated. funny how no one mentioned 1080/30p in all the reviews though… is anyone besides myself really looking forward to this? I mean, until now we only had 1080/60i with the Sony cameras, this 1080/30p is really going to make a beautiful image.

Kinetta is still waiting for those delayed cmos chips,
so they made a scanner with their spare time…
