Can someone tell me if it is possible to record from Canon XLH1 directly into the AG-HPG10 Portable P2 Gear Player/Recorder by Firewire or SDI ?
    Thanks

    Jeremy:
My question is more towards the codec since the output of the camera is 1440×1080, 1080i.

That’s the tapeless version. Coming out of the SDI Is ucomprssed video. With that recorder you can capture to full raster 10bit AVC-I mxf files. Much better than the hdv of the canon.

    Hi,

The AG-HPG10 only has 1394 as an input and so it is looking for a compatible codec to come in on a compressed domain. This means that only the DV codec generated by the GH1 is compatible. However, since the AG-HPG20 has an HD-SDI in, it could be used to record into DVCPRO-HD or AVC-Intra fro the HD-SDI out put from the GH1.

    I hope this helps,
