afx textproblem_ please help

i have a serious problem with my after effects cs3 texttool. i am working on a laptop with nvidia geforce go 7400 and a dualcore processor with 2gb ram.
when i type in text (doesnt matter if restarting computer or adding new compositon), my text appears at the upper left point of the screen and is not moveable! the ancorpoint seems to be moved too. it is at the lower left point of the textfield. the textfield itself is in the middle of the screen while the text itself is at the descirbed position. i dont know what to do.
some days ago all worked fine. i dont know what happend. i also think that i did not change any settings. i also reseted all textsettings but the problem is still there.does anyone know what to do?
do i have to reinstall the programm?
maybe, because i did a lot of rendering and i had problems with the open gl of my graphics card (so i switched back to adaptive resolution), my dll is fragmented??? because i switched on this function later because i had framebuffer problems.i would be really glad if anyone knows how to handle the problem. i also searched the web and here for solution but didnt find one.

new info:
if i make the textlayer a 3d layer all is fine (text is also moveable and aligned correct in the center of the textfield), but it must be possible without 3d. what should i do? all worked some days ago 🙁

i deleted my preferences file and all is working fine now!
yeahhhh!found it in another thread about crashing of afx which was also a problem!
