Aftre effects MP4 output
Hello
I’m creating MP4 videos for outdoor an advertising screen 1600p w X 1800 w.
If i try to render out MP4s from AE i get ‘settings mismatch’ and the video size gets changed in the render.
So i have to render out massive uncompressed QT animation files.
then convert them to MP4s in QT pro, which has no problems with my custom size.My question is, can i get MP4s out of AE at my custom size above?
and so avoid rendering, then converting.Thanks

Different encoders have varying degrees of how strictly they adhere to the specs — and that includes their abilities to encode to arbitrary (non-standard) raster sizes. You may not be able to avoid an intermediate render.
That’s ok, though — I generally recommend against encoding to MP4 directly from AE anyway. MPEG-4 and H.264 generally benefit from multi-pass encoding, which AE’s render queue is not capable of. This can give you better results in a smaller file.

Multipass / Quality isn’t that important
the display screen can’t display details anyway.
but i have a lot of MP4s to make and am trying to streamline the process -

You can use MPEG Streamclip as a front-end to QuickTime’s encoders. MPEG Streamclip supports batch lists, so you can take a lot of the repetitive manual work out of the workflow.
