  • After Pro 1.5.1 Crash during render – how do I “reattach” render files?

Posted by Stephen Brooks on May 20, 2005 at 4:32 pm

Premiere crashed and Windows rebooted last night after rendering 75% of my 90 minute project. The render files are there but the project doesn’t recognize them and thinks I have to re-render the entire thing. Is there any way to get the project to recognize what it has already rendered?

    Thanks.

Does it not ask for the location of the render files when you first open the project?

No. It loads as if I never rendered.

I suggest that the best you can do is delete all of the render files and render the project overnight.

And turn on automatic saving. The association between the project and the rendered files is only saved when the project is saved. Crash = not saved if you are saving “manually”

Since the render files aren’t associated with the project, I manually delete them to free up some space first.

Then…you may want to do renders in sections, so you have a chance to manually save the project tied to the renders at least incrementally. This would be if the problems persist in dealing with the entire show…
