    Hi Guys

Ok so now that the secret is all out about the Mac Pros, we are considering adding another system to our lineup. We’re looking at the 3.0GHz MacPro with 3-4 Gigs of RAM and the ATI card.

My question is that since Adobe UB is still a year away (or less), is it wise to run After Effects and Photoshop under Rosetta until then? Our work with PS and AE is simple stuff with maybe about 8-10 layers of Text, motion of small objects, small filters.

Let’s see, our complex animation so far would be a leaf or a petal falling on white background and hitting water at the bottom with text fading in.
Another complex might be taking a 2 mins clip into AE and Rotoscoping the subject out of the background

Given this, will be ok or am I going to crawl on my system and wait hours before I see the final
    Thanks a lot
    Sam

It’s all relative. If your working on a Quad G5 now, your going to feel a Mac Pro is slow in AE, in FCP it will feel faster. If your working on a lower speed G5 or a G4 it will feel about the same in AE but hugely faster in FCP and other applications that have been keeping up to date with apple’s hardware development.

I’m still working on a G4 and feel its well worth the change. I might even get better at motion which should be great on the Mac Pro.
