    Anyone else seeing this behavior?

Hide AE does not work. The AE windows stay onscreen.

The hide command does deactivate AE–clicking on an AE window does not bring the app to the foreground but it doesn’t actually hide it.

    Thanks,

    Lance

Ditto here. Annoying. I’m using CS5. You?

    Thanks Dave,

Yes, I read that document when it came out. It does not mention this issue, unless I missed something. Did you see something specifically referencing the issue somewhere?

    Thanks,

    Lance

    P.S. I am using CS 5.5.

    What version, Lance? CS5? CS5.5?

I have the same problem. Installed java thing too. also i have found that sometimes the little red target won’t appear for example if you are in the pan-behind tool, or a ramp expression. It only happens sometimes… weird

Same here. Lion 10.7.2 with CS 5.5.

And sometimes, the windows stay on top of any other application. Really weird.

It seems to be strangely attached to the CAPS Lock key. If you try to hide AE and it doesn’t, I find turning caps-lock on and off does the trick!

I tried it here, right now, and the problem persists…
But this time, the AE doesn’t hide but the windows are behind all the other applications.

Same problems here. Caps didn’t work. How annoying.

It appears that when you Option-Click (on a Mac) the Desktop *then* hit the Caps Lock, After Effects will hide.

    AE 10.5.0.253, Mac OS 10.7.2
