  • After Effects won’t edit MPEG1 audio?

Posted by Lucy Mcdonald on March 25, 2008 at 12:27 am

I have a quicktime video file. I was puzzled when After Effects would let me play the file with audio, but wouldn’t let me edit or export with audio. So I checked the format of the audio, and it says that it’s MPEG1. My internet research has led me in circles. How can I convert the audio in order to edit it in After Effects? Do I need to ‘demux’ the file, and what does this mean? Is there a program I can download to convert the audio, or to separate the audio from the video?

    MANY THANKS for any advice.
